2013 - Guernsey Photographic Club Diamond Jubilee
Celebrating sixty years of the Guernsey Photographic Club
Exhibition of members' photographs selected from their club, local and national competition entries.
The GPC has always predominantly favoured printed photographs and over its history has seen the emphasis shift from monochrome to colour, before the more recent upsurge of digital cameras and processing.
There is something for everyone in this show which ranges from nostalgic black and white images of a bygone age to modern manipulated images which look more like artworks. The subjects are equally diverse. People, landscapes, wildlife, still life, transport, abstract, the list of subject areas is endless while the overall high quality of the work has seen the club and its members do well in competitions over the years. Many of these high quality images have not been seen in public for years, so catch them while you can!
Venue: Brian White Gallery, Guernsey Museum & Art Gallery (Perry's Town Map H5) - Tel. 726518
