'Herstory' Fest - a weekend of local women's history.

A special weekend to discover local womens history! 

Guernsey Museums is delighted to be holding 'Herstory Fest', a two-day event on local Women's history taking place on the Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th of April at Guernsey Museum at Candie. 

Visitors are invited to discover various aspects of local women's history from the lives of nurses in WWI with The Guernsey Military History Company to the stories of notable Guernsey women through live performances with the Guernsey History in Action Company. 

Our Time Warp will be temporarily closed, to allow our Discovery Room to be used to host drop-in workshops with artist Olympia McEwan. There will also be lots of special activities available; from handling objects from the museum collection to tailor made trails and activities available throughout the museum.  Movies featuring local women will also be showing in the Frossard Theatre. 

Tickets for a selection of free tours on women's history hosted by Guernsey Arts and Guernsey Museums will also be available via Eventbrite. With more details on the museum website and social media pages. 

The Museum will be open 10am - 5pm and entry is free for Discovery Pass holders.

HERSTORY TOUR - A FOCUS ON CONTEMPORARY ART

To kick off Herstory Fest join Jade and Louise from Guernsey Arts as we explore through the gallery spaces to discover a snapshot of some of the fantastic female contemporary artists that Guernsey Arts have had the pleasure to support over the years.

The tour will take place at Guernsey Museum at Candie Gardens on Friday 12th April and will last around 1 hour, starting at 5.45pm sharp.
