Exhibition in the Brian White Gallery

The main exhibition showcases the amazing variety of fascinating specimens in Guernsey Museum's Natural History Collection. Brought back to the island from around the world during the 19th and early 20th centuries, the collection acts as an important biological record. It provides both inspiration and encourages discussion amongst researchers, students and members of the public.

Insect display in the Museum Foyer

In the Museum foyer you will find an array of diverse insect specimens. Guernsey Museum is fortunate to have an entomology collection which comprises over 20,000 insect specimens from locations all around the world. Brought together by numerous enthusiastic collectors these specimens have been assembled for public display, educational purposes and to inspire the most curious of minds.

The Question of Conservation

Like collections in the majority of museums around the world, the Guernsey Museum Natural History Collection contains specimens of animals now on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Collected in less enlightened times, these specimens can now act as catalysts to raise awareness of the necessity for global species conservation.
