28 October: Haunted Castle

Haunted Castle 2017

Dig out your fancy dress!

Mark the forthcoming Halloween with a day of ghostly happenings, cosy storytelling, spooky guided tours and more.

The day will feature a Pumpkin Trail, where children and families can search the Castle for different pumpkins, picking up clues and learning some Guernsey language along the way.  There will also be slime-making workshops based around Island folklore and a (family friendly) fancy dress competition at 3pm.  A unique live music show at 12.15 will be provided by the Blue Mountains, whose blend of dark folk will be perfect for the mysterious surroundings.  Belles & Broomsticks will dress in their 'Border' kit and treat audiences to some truly frightening dance moves at 2pm.  Children will also have a chance to listen to Guernsey stories and visit the witch for some potions and spells. Storytelling will be provided by Guille-Allès Library and Facepainting by Joni will be in the Castle from 11.00-3.00.

Normal admission applies but entry is free with a Discovery Pass.  Free entry will also be awarded to visitors dressed in full spooky attire (if approved by the 'gatekeeper').  The Castle is open 10.00-5.00 and the activities will end at 4.00.
