Weddings

Guernsey Museums & Galleries has a variety of locations for your wedding - from the intimate & quirky to bold statement locations.

Guernsey Museum

Guernsey Museum in Candie Gardens has an open terrace that will make for fantastic views for your wedding.

On certain dates a marquee can be placed on the Terrace to weather-proof your event with access to toilets inside the museum throughout.

If you'd like something modern and simple, the Frossard Lecture Theatre can host an indoor ceremony with the gardens right on your doorstep for photographs.

Or for something quirky for a small family group, how about getting married amongst the museum exhibitions themselves?

Castle Cornet

This iconic historic site can host ceremonies or receptions

Castle Cornet is a statement location that in 2022 & 2023 can hold ceremonies for audiences of approx. 48 people plus the wedding party.

These numbers can be flexible depending on your configuration due to the nature of the Amherst Room with its striking beams and pillars which will be the location of your ceremony in inclement weather.

When the sun shines, choose from the gorgeous Top Lawn with its island views or go for the more historical venue with the South Battery and its centrepiece traversing gun.

Castle Cornet has many steps and no lift access.

Vale Castle

Vale castle is the historic site perfectly suited if you have your heart set on a marquee or tipi wedding.

The medieval walls enclose a large grassed space that can accommodate large numbers of guests with gorgeous views of the other islands out to sea.

Please be aware for your less-mobile guests that Vale Castle is accessible via a fairly steep inclined path.

Fort Grey

Fort Grey is perfect for informal ceremonies of up to approximately 50 people.

The stunning views and sea breeze makes this a lovely location for your ceremony and photos before travelling on to your reception.

A great venue for those wanting to do something a little different: blanket seating, casual gatherings or rustic sea-faring themes.

Something Quirky...

For something truly unique, the smallest & most intimate ceremonies could be performed at our smaller historic sites around the island or amongst the museum exhibitions at Guernsey Museum, Fort Grey or Castle Cornet.

Dolmans, Bunkers, Batteries, Military History, RAF 201 Squadron, Castle History, Archaeology, Shipwrecks & Maritime, Folklore, Fine Art or even our Foyer Displays & Temporary Exhibitions are amongst the themes on offer for a location to truly remember.
