Le French Festival activities

French flag flying at Castle Cornet

Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 October

Head to Castle Cornet for some French adventures, as part of Le French Festival.

On Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 October, there will be self-hosted activities at Castle Cornet, suitable for all the family.

Two self-guided picture trails will be available, taking you through the depths of the Castle. Head off on The Toilers of the Sea trail, which will challenge you to find characters from Toilers of the Sea (Victor Hugo's novel set in Guernsey) or try the French Connections Timeline Trail, a bilingual journey covering the important historical events between Guernsey and France.

There will also be a crafts room, where you can try your hand at French knitting, make an octopus or learn some castle words in French.

The Guernsey History in Action Company will also be treating the audience to one of their spellbinding performances, taking you way back in time...

Finally, if you're there at midday, don't miss the firing of the noon day gun! There will also be the opportunity to have your photograph taken with the gunners afterwards.

The Castle is open 10.00-17.00 on both days.

Castle admission is £11 for adults, £3 for children (7-18 years) and students (with a valid student card), free for children under 7 years. Also free for Discovery Pass holders.
