Seascape of Les Sommeilleuses

This watercolour by the talented young Moldovan watercolourist Eugen Gorean is from a collection of works painted while Eugen was on the island as part of an 'Art for Guernsey' Residency in September 2016. The residency culminated in an exhibition of the works in the Inner Markets in St Peter Port.

This particular watercolour from the exhibition was kindly donated to the Guernsey Eisteddfod Society by Art for Guernsey. The motivation behind the donation was Art for Guernsey's mandate to give back income created through their activities to the charitable sector on the island.

Guernsey Eisteddfod, a locally registered charity, decided that the best means of raising funds for the Society was to auction the painting.

This will be a silent auction with the winning bidder being announced at the opening of this year's Eisteddfod exhibition on 28 March.
